Commercial Ship Repairs

Fowey Harbour Commissioners own and operate a small ship repair yard & slipway at Brazen Island. The yard can accept vessels upto 150ft in length, 27ft in breadth and 11ft 6ins draft with displacements of 500 tonnes

The slipway is serviced by a cradle

A mobile crane lifting 15 tonnes is available

Drying facilities exist inside the slipway wall

Maintenance is carried out by engineers and shipwrights adjacent to the slipways and craneage is available.

Outside work is undertaken by the Commissioners' Staff
